فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا
Kerana sesungguhnya bersama kesulitan itu ada kemudahan,

إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا
sesungguhnya bersama kesulitan itu ada kemudahan.

فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْ

Maka apabila kamu telah selesai (dari sesuatu urusan), kerjakanlah dengan
sungguh-sungguh (urusan) yang lain,

وَإِلَى رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ
dan hanya kepada Tuhanmulah hendaknya kamu berharap.

Cuti kali ini tidak disia-siakan dgn hanyer tdo di rumah mahupon berulang-alik ke cairo yg x kurang bosannyer.

x tau aper mksd sbnr nama jolokan Mesir ni, Bumi Kinanah (أرض القنانة)
tapi orang ckp, mesir dpt namer tuh sbb tanah ni dulu pernah menjadi tempat dua nama besar, Musa n Fir'aun, main kejar2.

a person once told me that, if u don't visit both historical places of Moses n Pharaohs, u better never utter a word sayin u've been in egypt once.

so, kitowang pon nek la tyme machine doremon ke beberaper lagi tmpt best kat Egypt, LUXOR n ASWAN.

perjalanan kali nih pon boleh tahan lamernyer. slps 4 jam dlm bas dari Alexandria ke Giza, kami terus menaiki keretapi Giza-Cairo yg memakan maser 16 jam. tak sampai setengah perjalanan badan dah lenguh2. gerabak kelas pertama nih x byk beza pon dgn kelas dua.

sampai jer kat aswan kitorang tanpa sabar2 lagi terus menaiki bas ke Empangan Tinggi Aswan. ia merupakan satu drpd 2 empangan di aswan( selalunyer pelancong lalu empangan lamer untuk ke empangan baru nih). usaha pembinaan empangan ini oleh Gamal Abdul Nasser, presiden egypt yg pertama( 2nd, actually, after naguib) telah menimbulkan byk konflik. antara yg paling ketara ialah penduduk Nubia yg telah mendiami kawasan ini selama ratusan tahun. terpaksa(dipaksa) berpindah. selain itu, byk monumen2 berharga temple2 firaun yg berusia breatus-ratus thn. walau bagaimanapun, Gamal Abdel Nasser, percaya, usaha ini mendtgkan lebih byk faedah drpd kesan sampingan.

Pada mulanyer, Gamal meminta drpd Bank Dunia(kowt). tapi US kater, kalo nk dier tolong, Gamal kene berenti bertindak mcm ketua kebangsaan Pan-Arab. Gamal tidak senang dgn syarat ini. beliau kemudian meminta tolong drpd Soviet Union, dan SU bersetuju. maka, pada thn 1960, kerja2 pembinaan empangan ini pon bermula. tanggal 21 Julai 1970, empangan siap dan mula menunjukkan hasilnyer. Banjir yg sering melanda berjaya dielak dan air yg disimpan empangan ini (Lake Nasser) mampu menampung keperluan pertanian dan domestik negara semasa musim kemarau. empangan ini juger pernah menjadi penjana kuasa elektrik utama(85%) Mesir nih. tapi sekarang cumer 15% jer sbb Mesir lebih byk guner Solar.

Dari situ, kami terus ke sebuah temple berhampiran, Philae Temple. Kuil yg terbina pada zaman Pharaonic ni mempunyai lagenda yg tersendiri. di dinding2 nyer terdapat karangan tulisan hieroglif yg mengisahkan dewa Osiris, isterinyer Isis dan Abangnyer Set. ceriter dier lebey kurang citer Abel n Cain la.. Set jelous ngan Osiris dpt kawen ngan Isis yg lebih cun. dier pon merancang bunuh Osiris. dier buat satu party n maser party tuh dier ckp ader satu keranda yg ajaib, saper yg muat2 dlm keranda tu dier dpt(cam citer cinderella lak). tapi sebenarnyer, Set dah buat keranda tu supaya muat2 ntuk Osiris. jadi biler Osiris masuk, dier pon kunci keranda tu dan hanyutkan dlm nil. Isis yg mempunyai sihir yg hebat telah meminta Tuhan menghidupkan semula Osiris. Set masih tidak berpuas ati. kali ini, selepas membunuh, set mengerat mayat osiris kepada 42 dan scatter parts tuh ke seluruh egypt. isis yg sgt cintakan suaminyer mencari semua part bdn osiris dan meminta Tuhan menghidupkannyer semula. Tapi, (cam citer Dragon ball lak) Tuhan tuh xnk dah. sblm mati, osiris ngan Isis da ader anak, Horus. kisah pebalasan dendam oleh horus akan diceritakan kemudian.

Edfu dan Kom Ombo tadi terletak di antar Luxor dan Aswan. Kat Edfu ni lak, kitorang melawat Edfu Temple la.... Edfu Temple ni sbnrnyer temple Horus. Next, kitorang melawat ke perkampungan Nubia (Nubian Village). still igt empangan yg memaksa nubian pindah? kalo dulu, Nubia ni ader negara sendiri dan x mengaku rakyat mesir. tapi sekarang dah mengaku dah. Orang Nubia nih ader bahase sendiri yg len drpd bhs arab ammiah mesir. penduduk kg ni masih mengamalkan cara hidup yg sgt sederhana.

Mlm tu gak sampai ke Luxor, tapi dah lewat x gie maner2. kat boat ader Galabiyya party( party jubah) yg x braper nk jubah. tgk awek jepun menari tarian Arab jer huhuhuhu.....

Esok pagi2 kitorang pergi ke West Bank of Luxor dulu. kat cni kitowng pergi lawat VALLEY OF DA KINGS.

Lembah Raja-Raja ni sbnrnyer macam tanah perkuburan diraja. kawasan ni pernah menempatkan beratus-ratus Firaun yg dah mati. Antara yg terkenal ialah Tut Ankh Amon. walopon tomb dier adalah yg paling kecil skali, tomb ini adalah antar yg paling kaya. mummia Tut ankh amon dah dibawa ke Muzeum cairo. kitorang lawat 3 tomb yg paling besar; Ramses II, Ramses III (yg paling besar skali) dan Ramses da IX. tapi kat Valley of da king nih xleh amek gambar sbb takot rosak gambar kat dinding tuh...

HATSHEPSUT : THE fIRST FEMALE PHARAOH
Dekat West Bank jugak terdapat satu kuil yg sgt famous, The Temple of Hatshepsut. kat buku sejarah form 4 pon ader citer pasal kebijaksanaan Hatshepsut, seorang firaun pompuan, yg mengarahkan pembinaan terusan yg byk menyumbang kpd kemajuan pertanian pader zamannyer. Queen Hatshepsut ni ader triple relationship ngan firaun Tut Moses. merupakan anak kepada Tut Mose I, dan berkahwin ngan Tut Mose II yg juga adalah abang tirinyer, dan Emak Tiri kpd Tut Mose III. slps kematian Ayahnyer, dan suaminyer, Hatshepsut teringin nk jadi raja. tapi firaun pompuan x pernah dijangkakan dan tut mose III ader anak ngan pompuan biaser, Tut mose III.

Jadi Hatshepsut yg mendapat jolokan "The Master of Politic" hantar tut Mose III yg masih mude blajar jauh2. dier perintah buat temple ntuk dier dan juge mengenakan janggut palsu. maka bermulalah pemerintahan di bawah firaun pompuan yg pertama.

THE RAGE OF TUT MOSE III
the next temple that we visited is Karnak Temple, named after the surrounding village. sbnrnyer merupakan kompleks temple2 dan monumen2 yg laen. tempoh keseluruhan kompleks Karnak nih memakan maser ratusan tahun tapi bukan zaman 1 firaun jer. biler naek firaun baru, dier tambah lagi, nk wat temple dier kat cni gak. campur2 semua tu yg jadi ratusan thn.

Di sini juga terdapat beberapa binaan zaman pemerintahan Hatshepsut. igt lagi tadi citer pasal Queen Hatshepsut? biler anak tiri dier, Tut Mose III, cukup umur jer, dier tros balik ke cni, nk balas dendam kat Hatshepsut yg tipu dier ntuk dpt takhta. tapi malangnyer bile dier sampai, hatshepsut dah mati. Tut Mose yg smmgnyer marah giler tros mengarahkan supaya memsnahkan binaan milik mak tirinyer, termasuklah yg ader kat karnak temple nih. Tapi obelisk Hatshepsut yg ader kat temple ni x boleh Tut mose musnahkan sbb kononnyer ader nama tuhan terukir kat obelisk tuh.

30 km drpd Karnak Temple ni ader satu lagi tempat tarikan, Luxor Temple. Ia juga dikenali sbg Temple of amon Re. ia muler dibina oleh firaun Amon-Ofis III dan disiapkan oleh Ramses II.

Pintu masuk ke temple ini juga di iringi oleh sphinx tapi berkepala manusia. archeologist percaya amon re temple ini bersambung dgn Karnak temple melalui jln barisan sphinx ini. dua temple ini masih dlm proses ntuk disambungkan dalam usaha untuk menjadikan Luxor sbg Open museum dan Pharaonic Temple terbesar di dunia.

apehal kat Luxor nih byk sgt firaun wat temple dier ek? tour guide tuh kater namer lamer tempt ni ialah Thebes, pusat pemerintahan zaman kerajaan baru(ancient egypt dibahagi 2 kerajaan lama ngan baru). sbb tuh la Firaun2 ni tertumpu kat cni. Tomb diorang pon, kalo nk tau, da strat dibuat sejak diorang mule2 dimahkotakan lagik.

semenanjung Sinai yg terletak di antara Negara haram Israel dan lembah nil (وا!دى نيل) dipisahkan dari tanah besar afrika oleh suez canal yg dibuat ntuk memudahkan perjalanan ke timur dan merupakan salah satu factor imperialisme barat ke atas Negara-negara asia termasuk m’sia. Kitorang menyeberangi terusan ini melalui terowong bawah terusan iaitu terowong Ahmed Hamdi atau dlm bhs Jawa ahmed hamdi tunnel. Terowong ini merupakan satu2nyer jln darat yg menghubungkan Sinai dgn tanah mesir yg lain sebelum landasan keretapi el ferdan dan jambatan terusan suez siap pada 1991.

Tak sampai sejam pastu kitorang sampai di hentian pertama, Bar-Lev line. Bekas Rangkaian kubu atas dan bawah tanah dan lapangan periuk api ilik Israel sepanjang hampir 1oo batu ini dinamakan sempena salah seorang pegawai Israel yg bertugas di situ. Terletak bertentangan dgn port said dari sebelah utara hingga ke kawasan bertentangan dgn Bandar suez di selatan, kubu ini hanya siap sehari sblm presiden Mesir, Gamal abdel nasseer, melancarkan serangan yg dipanggil “war of attrition” pada bln March 1969.kegagalan segala serangan tentera mesir ke atas kubu ini membuktikan kekukuhan dan keangkuhannya. Di situ ulama(orang bijak pandai) memainkan peranan. Seorang syeikh Al Azhar, Syeikh Abdel Haleem mahmood, mendakwa telah bermimpi, menghapuskan kubu itu dgn air. Cadangan itu terus dilaksana. Kubu yg mengambil masa 6 thn untuk dibina di atas pasir itu tenggelam dek serangan paip bomba tentera mesir dlm masa 6 jam shj.

Dari situ kami meneruskan perjalanan pendek ke sebuah lagi perhentian iaitu mata air Musa (عيون موسى) or moses spring as called by padang balang villagers. mata air ini adalah mata air yg memancar (terdapat satu lagi mata air musa yg di described sbg mengalir). Daripada 12 telaga (untuk 12 kaum pengikut nabi musa) hanya tinggal 2; telaga asy-syeikh(بئر الشيخ) & telaga saqiyyah (بئر الساقية)

Berhampiran mata air ini juga terdapat sebuah pohon yg masih hidup dan dikatakan telah wujud sejak zaman nabi musa lagi( guess how many years is that).

I think thnx to camp david treaty, kitorang dpt perjalann yg membosankan ke kaki Mt. Moses. Sinai langsung x boleh mesir bangunkan. Sesekali ternmpk pelantar minyak di sekitar persisiran laut merah. Selepas mkn mlm dan berehat, kami memulakan aktiviti yg mencabut kaki dan mematahkan pinggang, mendaki gunung Musa. Gunung setinggi 2285 meter (tinggi sket jer dari gunung tahan) ini pernah menjadi saksi kepada perbualan lansung antara Musa AS dan Tuhannya. Sebelum Musa dan 60 pengikutnyer tiba ke puncak gunung salah seorang pengikut yg bernama Catherine telah meninggal sblm tiba ke puncak. Catherine telah dimalamkan di kaki gunung tersebut. Walau bagaimanapun, pihak kristian mendakwa Catherine adalah salah seorang rahib agung dan makamnyer merupakan gereja yg pertama dibina di dunia, Monastery of St Catherine.

Di puncak tu terdapat sebuah masjid kecil yg di bawahnyer terletak mihrab di mana nabi musa bermunajat kpd Allah selama 40 hari. Berhampiran situ juga terdapat the so called Holy trinity Chapel, yg didakwa gereja kedua tertua slps St Catherine.

[142] Dan kami telah janjikan masa kepada Nabi Musa (untuk memberikan Taurat) selama tiga puluh malam, serta Kami genapkan jumlahnya dengan sepuluh malam lagi, lalu sempurnalah waktu yang telah ditentukan oleh Tuhannya empat puluh malam dan berkatalah Nabi Musa kepada saudaranya Nabi Harun (semasa keluar menerima Taurat): Gantikanlah aku dalam (urusan memimpin) kaumku dan perbaikilah (keadaan mereka sepeninggalanku) dan janganlah engkau menurut jalan orang-orang yang melakukan kerosakan.

Perlihatkanlah kepadaku (ZatMu Yang Maha Suci) supaya aku dapat melihatMu. Allah berfirman: Engkau tidak sekali-kali akan sanggup melihatKu, tetapi pandanglah ke gunung itu, maka kalau dia tetap berada di tempatnya, nescaya engkau akan dapat melihatKu. Setelah Tuhannya "Tajalla" (menzahirkan kebesaranNya) kepada gunung itu, (maka) "TajalliNya" menjadikan gunung itu hancur lebur dan Nabi Musa pun jatuh pengsan. Setelah dia sedar semula, berkatalah dia: Maha Suci Engkau (wahai Tuhanku), aku bertaubat kepadaMu dan akulah orang yang awal pertama beriman (pada zamanku)

Musa said to As-Samiri, "What caused you to do what you did What presented such an idea to you causing you to do this'' Muhammad bin Ishaq reported from Ibn `Abbas that he said, "As-Samiri was a man from the people of Bajarma, a people who worshipped cows. He still had the love of cow worshipping in his soul. However, he acted as though he had accepted Islam with the Children of Israel. His name was Musa bin Zafar.'' Qatadah said, "He was from the village of Samarra.''

[قَالَ بَصُرْتُ بِمَا لَمْ يَبْصُرُواْ بِهِ]

((Samiri) said: "I saw what they saw not.'') This means, "I saw Jibril when he came to destroy Fir`awn.''

[فَقَبَضْتُ قَبْضَةً مِّنْ أَثَرِ الرَّسُولِ]

(so I took a handful (Qabdah) from the print of the messenger) This means from the hoof print of his (Jibril's) horse. This is what is well-known with many of the scholars of Tafsir, rather most of them. Mujahid said,

[فَقَبَضْتُ قَبْضَةً مِّنْ أَثَرِ الرَّسُولِ]

(so I took a handful (Qabdah) from the print of the messenger) "From under the hoof of Jibril's horse.'' He also said, "The word Qabdah means a palmful, and it is also that which is grasped by the tips of the fingers.'' Mujahid said, "As-Samiri threw what was in his hand onto the jewelry of the Children of Israel and it became molded into the body of a calf, which made a light moaning sound. The wind that blew into it was the cause of its sound.'' Thus, he said,

[فَنَبَذْتُهَا]

(and I threw it.) This means, "I threw it along with those who were throwing (jewelry).''

[وَكَذلِكَ سَوَّلَتْ لِى نَفْسِى]

(Thus my inner self suggested to me.) This means that his soul considered it something good and it was pleasing to his self.

(Ta Ha, 135 verses)

Biler nabi musa turun jer,dia tgk kaum dier sembah menatang tuh. Marahnyer dier, ditarikknyer janggut harun.yg kene tarik tukar jadi putih dan yg lain stay black. Kekallah ruper harun dgn janggut sebahagian hitam dan sebahagian putih. Ader yg mengatakan Musa mintak Allah haposkan jer kaum dier tuh.kilat pon menyambar diowang dan matilah semua orang. Tapi pastu musa menyesal, mintk dihidupkan kembali kaum itu.

Dari situ jugak kiter boleh lihat satu pokok yg ajaib, manna wa salwa yg ader sejak zaman Musa lagi.

Ader gak yg mengatakan di lembah inilah nabi Musa berjumpa dgn anak nabi syuaib(Jethro), safura(Zipporah). Nabi musa pernah membantu safura dan saudaranya memberi minum pengembalaannya. Nabi musa kemudian bekerja dgn nabi syuaib dan berkahwin dgn safura. Kemudian nabi musa meminta diri dari Syuaib as. Dlm perjalnn, sampai di Muqaddasitua’ dimana baginda dilantik menjadi Rasul.

وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَى
[20:10] And has the story of Moses come to thee?[1812]

إِذْ رَأَى نَارًا فَقَالَ ِلأَهْلِهِ امْكُثُوا إِنِّي آنَسْتُ نَارًا لَعَلِّي آتِيكُمْ مِنْهَا بِقَبَسٍ أَوْ أَجِدُ عَلَى النَّارِ هُدًى
[20:11] When he saw a fire, he said to his family, ‘Tarry ye, I perceive a fire; perhaps I may bring you a brand therefrom or find guidance at the fire.[1813]’

فَلَمَّا أَتَاهَا نُودِي يَامُوسَى
[20:12] And when he came to it, he was called by a voice, ‘O Moses,

إِنِّي أَنَا رَبُّكَ فَاخْلَعْ نَعْلَيْكَ إِنَّكَ بِالْوَادِي الْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى
[20:13] ‘Verily, I am thy Lord. So take off thy shoes[1814]; for thou art in the sacred Valley of Tuwa.

وَأَنَا اخْتَرْتُكَ فَاسْتَمِعْ لِمَا يُوحَى
[20:14] ‘And I have chosen thee; so hearken to what is revealed.

إِنَّنِي أَنَا اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنَا فَاعْبُدْنِي وَأَقِمْ الصَّلاَةَ لِذِكْرِي
[20:15] ‘Verily, I am Allah; there is no God beside Me. So serve Me, and observe Prayer for My remembrance

Dahab (ذهب) , Egyptian Arabic accent yg bermaksud emas, mendapat namanyer daripada warna kawasan, laut, pantai dan gunung-ganang serta padang pasir tersebut yg akan kelihatan keemasan menjelang senja. Dahab ni xder paper pon sbnrnyer. Bandar yg mmg kecik terdiri drpd beberapa rumah flet, resort dan restaurant beserta deretan bazaar dan hampir semua tempat ni adalah berdekatan dengan laut. Nk kater keciknyer Bandar ni, dari laut lagi da nmpk padang pasir blakang banggunan. Walau bagaimanapun, Bandar yg terletak di pantai tenggara (Laut Merah) Sinai ini merupakan antara tumpuan windsurfer kerana anginnyer yg sesuai. Terumbu karang yg di pelihara serta blue hole n under water canyon juga menjadi asset kawasan ini dan menarik untuk scuba diving n snorkelling. Camel, horse or jeep riding across some beautiful scenary kat padang pasir melengkapkan lagi keistimewaan dahab sbg tempat rekreasi.

Esok harinyer, kitorang nk bertolak balik lak.perjalanan yg sama lamanyer( atau lebih, lebey kurang 16 jam ) cam nek kapal terbang balik m’sia except for xder transit, x lah abes camtu jer. Ader lagi tempat yg menarik. T/hari kitorang sampai ke Taba. Taba terletak di persempadanan 4+1 buah Negara; mesir, Saudi, Jordan, palestin + Negara haram Israel. Yg nk dilawat bukan sempadan tuh.bukan ader paper kat sempadan. Tempat yg menarik kat sini ialah satu lagi kubu Salahuddin. The peculiarity of dis saladen citadel compared to other Saladen’s citadels in Egypt is the lacking of mosque n kolam air tawar. Kolam air tawar ni adalah bersumberkan air laut di sekeliling kubu ni, dan menggunakan sisitem penyulingan yg unik. Merupakan Antara Teknologi terawal Salahuddin al Ayyubi air laut yang masin menjadi air tawar bagi kegunaan tentera untuk berwudhuk dan minum dan sebagainya. Caranya ialah dengan meletakkan batu sehingga rapat dan mengalirkan air melalui batu itu. Garam akan terlekat di permukaan batu dan yang melepasi Cuma air tawar.

[25] Nabi Musa (merayu kepada Allah), katanya: Wahai Tuhan! Sesungguhnya aku tidak dapat menguasai selain daripada diriku sendiri dan saudaraku (Harun); oleh itu pisahkanlah antara kami dengan kaum yang fasik itu.

[26] Allah berfirman: Sesungguhnya negeri itu diharamkan kepada mereka memasukinya selama empat puluh tahun, mereka akan merayau-rayau dengan bingungnya (di sepanjang masa yang tersebut) di padang pasir (Sinai); maka janganlah engkau berdukacita terhadap kaum yang fasik itu.

Sebelum 10 jam perjalnn kosong bermula, kami melalui sebuah tempat yg bernama nakheel. Di salah sebuah bukit di sini terdapatnyer Mamalek Government sealed stamp atau cop mohor. Cop ni dikatakan digunakan zaman mamluk dulu ntuk owang2 yg nk gie haji.

people in alex celebrate it by making a drink which they call shurbat(kalo x cilap ar...) it look like 'air sirap' but it's actually strawberry and sometimes slices of banana is put in it... then, they share this drink with everybody, as many people as they can. anybody who pass by will be given the drink including us.(berapa gelas ntah minum.tiap2 kali lalu)

the nextday, we went to Anfushi, where we can find the Qaitbay citadel. it is built by sultan qaitbay, on the ruins of the pharaoh's light house. people say that some of the stone used to build the fort are from the light house remains.

after that, we cruised along the corniche to adore the fascinating alexandria's seaside view. alexandria is situated beside the Mediterranean sea. no wonder is assimilates other Mediterranean countries a little bit.

i always wanna visit the 7 wonders
the next day we went to one of them....pyramids(tu pon lps da 6 bln dok cni baru dpt isk3)
people say that pyramids are included in the 7 wonders because the pyramids stand with pride for the past thousands years.
there is trials done by japan to build another pyramid that can but they fail when they saw those newly made pyramids fell.
the wind blew very harshly that it makes my long hair become a bit untidy(bukan salah ak ek)
the ticket to enter the pyramid's area is LE30, and we only get that price after showing our student cards..(kalau xder student card mahal sket, kalau jadi orang mesir murah byk penipoo nyer owang mesir nih)

besides, u can't find shadow of pyramid at any angle beside it.
it may be have something to do with its location and the measurement of the building that make the shadow of these pyramid ddoesn't fall on the earth. all praise be to Allah

auliya' is the plural form for wali.
one of the mausolea we visited here is the one belong to Wali asyraf or famously known as wali kecil
at the age of 3 years old, Wali Kecil had memorized the whole qur'an(kite tiga tahun ayat2 hafazan sekolah pon susah nk hafal ahaks)
Wali Kecil is the descendant of our beloved prophet (peace be upon him)
it is said that, one day the father had a dream of building a mosque and he is currently collecting fund to do so.

He built a huge mosque inside the citadel and it is a beautiful one. There are other structures within Salahuddin’s castle - which is pretty big. Mohammed Ali had a huge impact on Egypt.

The building was commissioned by Sultan Hassan bin Al-Nasir Muhammad bin Qalawun in 1356 AD as a mosque and religious school for all four juristic branches of Sunni Islam. It was designed so that each of the four schools of thought - Shafi'ie, Maliki, Hanafi and Hanbali - has its own area while sharing the mosque.

after the prayer, we decided to go to the imam syafi'ie mosque
from what i've heard, we may have the opportunity to see rasulullah if we come here after the asar prayer..
you can find the footprint of rasulullah at one angle around the tomb. i'm not sure but i suppose, it's saiyidatina aisya who put it there.
we arrived there just in time. the azan asar was heard from the mosque, but no luck(macam baek sgt sampai boleh jumpe nabi)

not so far from imam syafi'ie mosque, we can find saiyidatina aisyah mosque where we can find her mausoleum inside it.

Chinese new year is smthg that most malaysian, especially children, no matter they're chinese or not, waiting for. it's understandable if chinese kids can't wait for this annual feast as they knew that they will be receiving lots of ang powfrom their relatives but what children of other races become excited for?

holiday!! yes, holiday or 'agazah, in informal egyptian language, is what people, children and elderly, looking for. schools and works are very exhausting and headache making, and holiday is one of other therapies for that, i suppose, if it's not the boring one. i can still remember spending my whole chinese new year break in national service training programme(NSTP)'s camp. all i did was just sleeping and eating.

besides, than the holiday, people also like limau mandarin which are sweet and more delicious than the oranges. Mom always buy boxes of it during chinese new year and i won't have mouth ulcer problem during that period as i never lack of ascorbic acid(vitamin c) supply.

in egypt, surely, we don't celebrate chinese new year coz as i told u before, the only chinese here are some tourist and also we! we malaysian here who are always misrecognize as chinese. and so......

I would like to wish Happy chinese new year to all malaysian in egypt.wahahahahaha

we do have oranges and limau mandarin ere but the difference is i love oranges more than limau mandarin coz the taste are inverted.

not celebrating means no holiday..... sigh.......................... and besides we are in examination period... wish us luck...(^^)v

a very long day, a very long nite

i suddenly awaken by something that morning. It was not very clear. But i pay less attention to it, still not totally awaken. I could barely see my watch. It seemed like the electrical supply had not yet recovered since last night. My heart was beating very fast and became faster when i realize that it was already 0800hr. I quickly prepare myself to go to my classes. i only have three classes today and they are not that heavy, but i still felt a little bit unpleasant. Oh, i got a pharmacology examination. don't ask me 'bout my performance. I straight headed back to the hostel after the test, hoping that i'll find peace there. the electric supplies were not recovered yet and the situation worsen with interrupted water problem. know not what to do, only a deep sigh. No light means no study. The other house mates had gone outside while i sleeping. It's already dark outside when i awoke. i had no idea what to do at that time but i was really sure about this one thing, i am really hungry. i fetched my key and start looking for something for dinner. After having a plate of marcarona bi salsah with bidh bi lahma, i loitered for a while, not intending to return to the hostel early that night. At last i ended up stopping at a small coffe house. It's condition is a little bit unpleasant just like any other coffe house because of a lot of people smoking the famous water pipe in egypt, sisha. i orderred for a hot cocoa and sit at near the unsmoking groups of people. They were playing something and the games can be seen everywhere here. i tried to get closer to the group of three youngsters. They looked like of around my age.
"assalamu'alaikum."
"alaikumussalam"
"mumkin ana u'ud ma'aku?" i asked them for if i can sit with them.
"aoh, mumkin, faddhol." One of them replied politely, welcoming me.
"antu tel'ab eh?" i straight expressed my curiosity on the game that they are playing.
"Taulah." answered another person who is called Ahmad.
The other one tried to explain about the game to me. We actually have the game in Malaysia but i never know how to play it. Here, the game can be played in three ways; Wahid wa talatin(31), Gol bahri, and the most difficult one to learnt, which is called mahbusah. Taulah is usually played by elderly while youngster have another favourite game which is domino. It is played just like in other country i suppose, as it looked familiar. That night, i only managed to learn how to play wahid wa talatin. I decided to go back when it's already 2115hr, egypt time. when i arrived at the hostel, i can see level 1,2,4,6 and 8 was bright. Thank God, both electric and water supplies are back. And that is my story about a night of boredom. Like that night, this story is also boring.

As i mentioned before, it is shita'(winter) in egypt. it is cold enough to us new comers, and that is why i was surprised when our dr. told us that "the 'real' winter will be a bit late this year". That means that the temperature has not yet reached its lowest.
from what i've heard, usually the temperature will drop till as low as 10-7 degrees celcius in december but seemed like it don't this year. it is only about 17 degrees(sejuk la tu) now.well it will stil become colder as it enters january, and all of us will be wrapped in thick clothes all the time when that happened.

however, it is not all bad about winter because despite of it coldness, it also brings along the strawberry season with it(ingat mesir ade kurma jer?) the strawberry is sweeter than cameron highland's and thus, there's no need to eat it with sugar or salt. and......
we can find it everywhere.

the prophet daniel's mausoleum

in my busyness of preparation for the lectures exams and assignment during the last day of my short break( busy la sgt.hehehe), i did find a time to visit to one of the attractive places in alexandria, the prophet daniel mausoleum.
it is situated in a mosque named nabi daniel mosque at a street which also named el nabi daniel street.
Actually that was my 2nd time visiting this place. the 1st time i visited this place was a coincidence. it was an exhausting "gloomy" evening. i started my walk alone, still tensed with the exam held in the afternoon, without aiming any exact place. after a while, i dropped by at a mosque to perform Asar prayer. when i was about to enter the mosque, an old man waving his hand to me. i don't understand him and so, i just ignore him and joined the other jamaah(bkn imam 1st, da lewat sgt).

after i finished performing the prayer, i get closer to the man before. And only after listening to his explaination, i knew that the mosque is where the nabi daniel mausoleum takes place. the old man actually the mosque and the mausoleum keeper and he thought that i want to visit it and want to show the place, may be because i look like other foreign tourists. well, i am thinking of visiting it after being told so.

we at last decided to leave cairo that night because of several circumstances.
but how?actually that was our 1st time going to alex by ourselves.
with some guidances from ustaz and a little arabic language, we headed towards the train station which is located at Remsis, gambling our fate, letting everything decided by The Most Wise.
we arrived at the station at about 4.15pm, with a kind egyptian guiding us and of coures His help.
may be it was our lucky day. We met ustaz PG again there.he and his friend were the ones who showed us where and how to buy tickets and which train should us take.
we finally made it to alexandria at about 7.50pm.
however, there's still a problem waiting us.
we don't know how to go back to mahattah el-raml, where our hostel is situated.
but that was not a big deal.
we took a taxi and headed home..........

After Dato' ambassador finished his preach, we took our breakfast. among the foods served is Nasi Lemak(mmm... lame x mkn). and after that, the korban ceremony begun.....

when i look at the camels that are meant to be sacrrificed, i wonder on which part of its long neck should be slaughtered. at student complex, they do it by cutting at the proximal which means just under its head. on the other hand, i saw people at kelantan house cut the blood vessels at the distal of the neck.

the party was held that afternoon at the complex, while most of the state houses did it at night.
the camel tasted meat like beef and mutton but a less tenderized.
i can't tell more bout it.you'll only know it after tasting it yourself.

eidul adha in Cairo

Eidul Adha should remind us of the sacrifice done by the prophet Ibrahim(peace be upon him) and his son Ismail(peace be upon him) which is not for any other purpose but only to show their loyalty to The Almighty. He is the most Gracious The Most Merciful and He replace Ismail with other thing to be sacrificed.

the sacrifice done is now followed by muslim all over the world and that includes the muslim egyptian who dominates the population in this country by 90%. they too celebrates eidul adha and perhaps,they celebrate it more than we malaysian do(that is what they say).

due to my curiousity of how the egyptian celebrate it and to know wether the story told is true, i went to the capital once again to see it myself.
but, why cairo, when i can just stay in alexandria and watch how the citizen there do it? afterall, they're egyptian too.

i think, if i wanna see how a real egyptian is, it's better to find it out in other places in egypt than alexandria coz alexandrian had assimilated the european a bit due to its location and the no. of tourist they received.

and so, my friend and i departed to cairo a day before the eid, by a mini bus rent by the the kelantan house, and straight to the malaysian students hostel complex. right after entering the complex, few camels and cows, and more than 15 khurufs is seen.(don't have to mention the odour i think)
eventhough i've been this country for more than three month, that was the 1st time i see camels.

i can see how busy that day was. everybody walked here and there making preparation for the eid. Realizing the busyness and that i couldn't lend them a hand(ckp la x nk tolong), my friend and i leaved the complex and headed toward malaysia hall of Abasiyya, cairo(DMAK). On our way there, we can see many herds of khurufs lining along the road side. The owner, sometimes, stop cars and try their luck, asking them to buy their tame. i wonder if this happen in the middle of kuala lumpur city and what will people think. some of the tames had been slaughtered and causing parts of our pathways flooded with blood making people who passed by sick.

we took a bus to abassiya. actually none of us remember how to get there. Luckily we met some helpful egyptian. after asking several people, we finally made it to DMAK. we slept there in one of residents room. how kind ustaz G is, offering me his bed. however, it's still a bit unpleasant coz i don't know on what hard cold floor he was sleeping on that night.

the next morning, we went to the m'sian student complex again by the bus served by Malaysian student department of Malaysia embassy. we can see egyptian everywhere. Almost all of the road were closed by thousands of people celebrating the eid. happiness and joy can be seen at their face. this is one of the factors that caused us late to perform solat sunat eidul adha and at last, we could only make it to listen to the preach given.

on the third day of eid, we departed to alexandria, heading towards the our hostel and alexandria university, where we will b studyin for the next 6 years.

the university is not as beatiful as people said. doesn't matter. it's not important. what important is the things that i'm gonna learn here.

the lecturers are great. they can memmorise each word in the book and so, they just have to bring chalks and teach us. i wonder how they do that

we also use the semester sytem here but with a few differences. for example, we have examinations throughout the semester.(owh, no time to relax)

we have some egyptian and arab saudi friend becoz we are in the international programme.

the hostel which i'm living in is situated at sezostress street, mahattah el-raml, police station district, Alexandria.it is not that far from the U. i walks to the u everyday except friday;the only break of the week.the hostel have a nice look although there are some incompleteness as it's still new.

after fasting for a month, eid came. we celebrated it at haiyyu 'asyir (section X) where the complex of malaysian hostels are situated.

the egyption perform eidul fitr prayer as early as six while we stick to the tradition in malaysia, which is at 8.00am .(huuhuhuhu)

And about 7.15 am that morning the melancholic rhyme of takbir was heard touching the hearts which has been brought here for thousands miles of journey.

Fasting....

i thought my lips are goin to dried and cracked as the atmosphere here is drier than malaysia. Egyptians can only experience rainy day during winter and it will not as much as the malaysians does. apart from that, these rain will only last for few minutes and fleet away. this also explain why egypt don't face problems of flood like malaysia always do.

90% of the egyptians are muslim and they, of course fasting in ramadhan like any other muslims all over the world. during the ramadhan nights, all mosques here bear hundreds of people performing ibadah,and this continues or more accurately, improves till the very-very end of the month.this is very difference from what happen in malaysia where the no. of people keep decreasing from the earlier days of the month. positively thinking, may be most of them had return to their hometown and pray there instead of the great mosques in the cities.wallahuaalam.

the mosques here also serve meals for the fasting people to break their fast.
in addition to that, rich people do the same thing by sponsoring maidah ramadhan that can be easily found in egypt.(pic above) i've once eat there and the meal served were not bad at all. rice, marcarona, sweets and a quarter of roasted chicken for each person.

i left m'sia at about 11 p.m. a long jorney it was,but not as long as the jorney that i 'm travelling here, in Egypt. i arrived at Cairo International airport at about at around 7.oo am, egypt time. my friend n i were brought to Abasiyyah Malaysia Hall Cairo(DMAK) for the orientation week.i'm not goin to write about the orintation week as it was as boring as other typical orientation week held by malaysian.
Almost all residents of DMAK are Al-Azhary(ustaz2 yg blaja kat Al-Azhar,the oldest u in the world).ustazs there are very kind n helpful.some of them brought us to visit some significant places in Cairo.

we went to Hussein street which a Souq(open market) and the Hussein mosque is situated.the mausoleum of Hussein is found here, in this mosque.the market sells a lot of goods like textiles, foods and souvenirs.the souqs here usually more active in the night, and during Ramadhan, it will extend till Solat Fagr(Fajr=subuh da....)

before goin to hussein, we dropped by at al-azhar mosque to perform isha' and tarawih prayer. there are so many mosques here(and coptic churches too,usually built at the near by) built very close to each other that sometime you may be confused,which of them is the mosque that you are intending to go to.

another mosque which are very important to the history of islam in egypt is Amru al-as mosque,
a very huge mosque.It is said as the 1st mosque to be built in Egypt.it was built when Amr al-as "open"(bring Islam to) this arabic country during the islam victorious ages.it is a very beautiful mosque(sekarang la,dulu x tau macamaner) with an open place in the middle.i suppose,its look is almost the same with other great mosques here.

when i first, entered this college, we were told that we the pampered children of this college. But what i can see now is we are more likely being made like a step child. i try my hard not to talk about this but thing has become worser as the day passes.

First, our mat'am was snatced from us and a graphic studio for diploma course was built on it.

Second, they want to add another studio for diploma student, but we KiTT student still don't have a fixed class. sometimes we have our muhadharah in musolla, sometimes in our LH is taken by A-level students

Third, there's rumours saying that we have to move to haiyu Mawar. although it's just rumours, but it sound terrible. look, we have only about three weeks left.

i'm not asking for a hotel for us to live in. i'm not asking for the khalifah's castle so that we can study in it. i just want a better and sweeter memory of my three months stay here.

for about a month here(KTT) i lived with just 2 housemates who are also KiTT members, in a double-storey terrace house. da house members increased by 9new a-level students.

a month later, they were asked to move to da apartment which is just above the college. i don't even have a chance to know them as they busy studying all day.( nko pun bkn slalu ada kat umah)

last sunday another 7 students moved in from taman mawar. i don't think i can memorise their name as i'm very bad at that particular thing and furthermore i've only about 1 month left here.hoho

after a few pressurig days(yela tu), we went to port dickson(PD) to release tensions. we depart at about 10 a.m. by KTT bus, accomponied by three lecturer who are mr shurabil, miss lun and mr. azmi. we arrived at kemang bay at 11.11 biz zobt.

i can't join them playing in da water coz of certain
health problem(i've tired explaining this health problem to people), howeva, i still can enjoy da da roasted chicken sausage and burger.

i know that is is stated in kitt calender that we got da second test this week, but even da 1st test haven't finish yet.

besides dat, we're busy completing da guarantors form. very busy that we don't have times 4 study.(mcm la nk stdy kalau ada masa) i went to kuala selangor to seek 4 my 2nd guarantor. urgh.. i hope mine has completed.

back to the test. i left a lot of spaces empty though was warned by ustaz johari not to left any blanks.

don't have to tell me, i know that my result drops. not because of not enough time to prepare but bcoz i don't know.

LDKs

at 1st i thought it will be very boring. it does, but not that boring. my, my, the facilitator always got something to defy me.

though so, you have to know that my group is the luckiest coz if compared to other groups,
i pitty them.

just imagine, 9 LDKs. i think i'll fall sick if there is another one. the present ldk has made me headache. it needs us to think more and its over.(alhamdulillah)

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

like other camp, we got marching here. every morning we have to line up by group and march.(urgh.. i'm sick with it oredy) besides that we also trvel through a forest in rain, run 2 km, and flyin fox.

talkin bout flyin fox, actually my group don't have da opportunity to but i silently follow the sixth group and i'm da last person to fly.........

As i promised b4,

my experiences troughout da btn.....

i have attended a btn b4, at via my school. however dis btn is far different from it. da 1st btn that i attend help us to understand how a country is built and what quality do a country needs to be an excellence country. besides that, da corse is planned for teen especiaaly school pupils.

da btn that i've just attended, is planned 4 students who wanna further their study overseas and it's mainly about nasionalism and the rights that we have to protect.

i'm not going to write what da rights are but my summary and thinking about the camp. it consist of 3 corsework presentations, 9 LDKs(in group exercises) and few physical activities.

COURSEWORKS PRESENTATION

honestly, its quite boring coz it is all bout da subject that had made me sleepy, history...
however, i don't deny its importance. each course work took about 2 hours.

da test should be done last week, but last week was avery long week..

da first subject to do da test is PI n followed by bio and dis is da third.

don't know what else to say here, but task is task. i stiil have to update this blog weekly. em... let me talk 'bout my studies here. The priority is of course given to lughatul arabiyyah. we learn arabic 16+2 sa'ah per week( the "+2" refers to the one that we learn in religous education's muhadharah.) This is to ensure that all of us can mujamalah(at least a little bit) when we step on the egyptian land.

the other subjects which are information technology(IT), biology, physics and chemistry, are only learnt 2 hours per week. oh ya, we also learn english( it is almost da same as the english for science and technology which is learnt during my upper secondary) 4 hours per week.

i was once unsatisfied for not getting the scolarship to europe. but now looking how the seniors have to strive to pass their cambridge AS and A2 examination, only God knows how greatful i am. i mean, i don't have to "suffer"( mayb the word is to much ) like them.

Good news : students are allowed to go back home.

not so good news : were given homeworks n course works. Test I are going to begin soon.

bad news : i'm not prepared for all those.

yea...... after several weeks of pressure, we can go back to our hometown to release the tensions faced(at least i thought so ). the physics class was ended earlier to ease us.

however we didn't realise da danger which are approaching us(wakaka mubhalaghah la plak).wa..... b4 da 3 days break, religeous education muallimin wa muallimat gave us assignments and works.( this blog is actually one of them).

my head might burst if this keep occuring. you might say this is nothing if compared to the coursework at the jami'iyyah. but i don't care. i stiil wanna write it here.

anyway, da exam is around da corner.gambattekudasai to all frenz. ops, no more japanese remember!

i'm now at KTT, making preparation to further my study in medicine field in Egypt. no more japanese but arabic. i find that arabic is the hardest language to learn. even the muallim(teacher) who taught me the language say so. within 3 months here, i've to learn both fushah(formal) arabic and ammiah(informal) arabic. so hard...(tu la, dulu ust. mokhtar ajar maen2). anyway, it's only my 2nd week here. I've only learnt the nahu( grammar) in arabic, but i think that's enough to explode my head.

the programme that i'm following now( middle east intensive programme) has about 50 members. and only 15 of us are male.(asal medik jer x ramai laki). orientation week( days supposing) was only held for 3 days as we don't have enough time. don't ask me about my team's performance. i will never tell you.never!

besides getting headache with da lughatul arabiyyah, we were also brought to visit several interesting places( sbnrnye x la menarik sgt tapi da tepaksa gi jer la..)
